Steele Family News
April 2022

Hello, Steele Fam! 👋  Hope your March went well! It's already April! We've loved any conversations or visits we've had with you, and hope you are all doing great! 💕

We hope you're enjoying reading these letters, and that you're all feeling a little more updated and closer to each other by reading them. 😁

As in past letters, in this letter we will continue to talk about family traditionsupcoming events, and highlight at least one person in our family. 😊

STEELE FAMILY TRADITIONS
General Conference--We have loved our family tradition of attending all sessions of General Conference twice a year! We rarely have attended in person in SLC, but make sure to watch from home in our pajamas. Some of you might remember the two days of gathering around the TV and sitting thru the talks with your notepads and pillows and blankets in tow. I'm SURE you remember the snack bags, right? We still do that! I love shopping for yummy snacks the day before and getting all the snack bags ready for us to munch on during the sessions of Conference!

Best of all, of course, is hearing exactly what the Lord wants us to hear as a Church directly from the prophet and apostles. I can't count how many times my own prayers have been answered through a General Conference talk. We are so blessed to live in a time when there are living prophets on the earth!

Easter!--We have happy and fun Easter traditions that we hope will spill over into the grandkids lives 😁
Of course we recognize the Sunday before Easter as Palm Sunday--the celebration of Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem. We also recognize Good Friday of that week, which is the day that Jesus was crucified. It seems strange to call it a "good" day, but we know it ultimately was so good for us because this was the day He died for all of us. Of course, on the third day, Easter Sunday, He broke the bands of death and was resurrected--which means we ALL will live again! We are all so grateful for His love for us, for "greater love hath no man than he who will lay down his life for his friends."

We love to celebrate with Easter baskets full of treats and an Easter egg hunt with money-eggs on Easter Saturday! It's been lots of fun every year to see who finds the most money. This year we will also have an Easter basket full of trinkets that remind us of the true meaning of Easter--which is Christ. We hope you all have a beautiful spring Easter! 🐣

APRIL BIRTHDAYS

Brigham Steele--April 26

Brigham is turning 21 this month! Everyone likes to be remembered on their birthday. If you can't celebrate with Brig, make some time to show him how important he is to you! And if it’s YOUR birthday month, and someone remembers YOU—say thank you. Kindness matters 😊

FAMILY EVENTS

April 2-3rd, 9am & 1pm & 5pm: We will be watching all sessions of Conference at our house over the 2-day period. We have multiple TVs in our home to stretch out in front of, and anyone who shows up gets snack bags! Just let me know in advance if you're coming.

April 16th, 11:00am--??: Easter egg hunt and Easter BBQ! We will be having the traditional hunt with plenty of money-eggs hidden around the big back yard. If little grandkids show up, we will have some treat-eggs for them to find. We will have food and yard games after the hunt. Wonder who will find the high-dollar eggs?? 🐇

We know some of you are out-of-state, but we'd love for any and all of you to be there! We need to know at least a week in advance, so we can plan for food & sleeping arrangements. If we don't hear from you by April 11th, we'll assume you can't make it. All family is welcome--the more, the merrier!

April 21-24th:
Mom/Nana will be heading up to Utah for the monthly trip to see loved ones 😁 I would love to see any of you that I can or help out in any way that you need me! Let me know if you want to meet up
💗

April 26th, evening: We'll be having a family celebration for Brig on his birthday! We'll probably go out to dinner at his favorite restaurant and catch a fun movie. Please let us know a few days in advance if you'll be coming, so we can plan better. And, I'm sure Brig is accepting presents! 🎁 haha

Any family events I'm missing?? Please contact me and let me know!

FAMILY HIGHLIGHT

Each month we’ll highlight at least one member of our family regarding a happy event in their life. April's highlight is........

Anton! 😊 Mom & Dad & Grma Steele just had the opportunity to visit Anton on Temple Square in SLC, and see his nice basement apartment. It was so good to see how comfortable it was and how nice he set it up! We had a really great time with him & Grma LOVED getting to see him. With all that's happening in the world right now with the war, it is really comforting to have someone in our family who is so knowledgeable about difficult survival techniques. We never know when we're going to need Anton and all his knowledge and skills 💕

And..... we have to have two highlights for this month.....

Mac!! He's working hard to finish up high school so he can submit his mission papers. He is loving being part of two choirs and is excited to perform in California this summer. His most recent excitement has been that his truck is finally running! It just needs a few more tweaks and he'll be out driving everywhere--watch out!! 😉

That’s it for this month. For those we've gotten to talk to or visit with in March, we've loved it! If you have fun news of your own (or even if you just want to talk), give Mom/Dad (Nana/Papa) a call! We’d love to hear from you anytime!!

Hugs 🤗 and kisses 😘
